3 Exercise Tips for Busy People


When I was still a student, it's easier for me to get fit. I can eat everything I want without getting fat. It's because I'm young and my metabolism is fast. 

I go to the gym. I play basketball. I run. I hike. I'm very active during that day. But things change when adulting hit me. I started working and I became inactive in my sports. 

Being fit became challenging for me.  I eat more and exercise less. I can't even find my abs (or ribs) anymore. 



It Really Hurts  (♪)

It really hurts me that I can't exercise because I have no time. It really hurts me that my clothes are shrinking. And that I became tired easily even if I'm still in my 20s.

I said to myself, I don't want this sedentary lifestyle. I believe that when I become unhealthy even if I'm still young, it will become worse when I become older or young at heart.

That's why, like BDO, I try to find ways to exercise despite my busy schedule. And I want to share to you the 3 Exercise Tips that I'm doing right now.

My 3 Exercise Tips for Busy People are:

1. FIND TIME

In my fitness journey, I tried to exercise at different times. I tried to do it before work and I tried to do it after work.

And based on my experience, morning is the best time to exercise if you want to be consistent. 

Why? We can't control what will happen after work because there is babe time, family time, or work time.

In my case, I wake up as early as 4 am everyday just to exercise. But you don't need to do that. You just need to find time that works for you.



2. PREPARE AT NIGHT

At night, I make it a habit to prepare things that I will need in my morning workout. This will help me lessen the friction of doing the actual workout in the morning. 

Before I go to sleep,

  • I already wear my workout clothes.
  • The rubber mats and dumbbells are already setup on the floor. 
  • And I'm already finished preparing my Protein Shake.

Because my things are already prepared at night, all I need to do is to wake up early, drink my protein shake, and do my workout.

3. START SMALL

In my fitness journey, I experience working out for 2-3 hours. When I'm busy, I only workout for 15 to 30 Mins.

I observed that I'm more consistent when I'm only doing 15 mins workout compared to my 2 hours workout.

Because it's only a 15-30 mins workout, I can do it everyday. So if you struggle with consistency, I encourage you to start small.
